Lions Gate Home Entertainment Partners with Unreal Marketing to Promote DVD Release of "O"


BALA CYNWYD, PA (April 16, 2002) - Interactive agency Unreal Marketing Solutions today announced that it has been chosen by Lions Gate Home Entertainment to help promote the DVD release of the film "O" as part of Lions Gate’s major nationwide marketing push. To increase awareness of the film's availability on DVD, Unreal Marketing with the help of Synergistic Media, is treating millions of Los Angeles commuters to the drama of "O" on a 24 x 33 foot interactive video screen, overlooking Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood.

Lions Gate was looking for a unique way to tout the arrival of the two-disc Deluxe Edition DVD of the box-office hit, which stars Mekhi Phifer, Julia Stiles and Josh Hartnett, and is now available in stores and video rental outlets everywhere. The contemporary version of Shakespeare's classic tale of seduction and betrayal features hot young stars and a hip soundtrack.

"We turned to Unreal Marketing to announce our biggest theatrical release to date on home video in the most visible way possible. With "O," consumers who enjoyed the film in theaters and have yet to experience it in their homes will get a daily preview on their commutes," said Peter Block, President of Lions Gate Home Entertainment.

The video and DVD release of "O" has already debuted among the top five rental and sell-through titles nationwide and is one of the Company’s biggest home entertainment releases ever.
